ASA Great Room and Zoom Webinar

Some of the very best photographs are taken by amateurs with an artistic bent who take the time to experiment with light, color, and perspective to creative expressive works of art. The best photographers also take advantage of educational opportunities available through museums, photography centers, colleges, and artist speakers.  Photographers in Academy Village have taken advantages of these opportunities and submitted selected photos to our ASA Program Coordinator who has compiled their best captures into a slideshow.

Several special events have set the stage for this show piece of a slideshow.   One was a recent tour called “Why Color” at the Center for Creative Photography on the University of Arizona campus.  In addition, Curator Rebecca Senf has given two inspiring talks about photographic aesthetic principles.  Another fascinating lecture explored the intimacy between the photographer and subject by artist Jade Beall.

Now Part 5 of “The Art of the Photograph” encourages photographers to apply what they have discovered to friends’ and neighbors’ photographs.   We will enjoy a discussion of wide-ranging images presented by over a dozen Villagers photographers with a wide range of experience, moderated by Photo Group member Miles Orchinik.
