Meet Denise Bowls, new ASA Board Member

Denise Bowls grew up in Ventura, California, where she was among the first high school girls in the world to dunk a basketball in competition. She earned her degrees at the University of Phoenix while she worked for GTE and in the insurance industry. Denise managed teams of adjusters, workingas a business coach and sharing best practices. A day after earning her doctorate she took the job as Vail Chamber of Commerce, Executive Director. and moved from Las Vegas to Tucson, sight unseen.
Denise has found Vail to have a small-town cozy feel, with amazing sunrises, sunsets and people. As Executive Director of the Chamber, she enjoys connecting with people and working on how businesses can thrive locally and beyond.
Dr. Bowls’ passion to help communities spiked her interest in the Arizona Senior Academy where she now serves on its Board of Directors. She notes that the ASA is an amazing community resource and looks forward to strategically aligning with Academy Village to get a more organized structure and greater outcomes for the opportunities we have to learn, share, and shine.
