We watched it being built at the intersection of Houghton and Old Spanish Trail over the past two and a half years, looking forward to the time we would have a medical center near Academy Village. Now, Kellyn Shaw will present an overview of the services and specialties available at the new, eastside branch of Northwest Medical Center. Current providers she’ll describe include Primary Care, Orthopedics, General Surgery, Cardiology, Pulmonology, GYN/Urogynecology, and Advanced Imaging. Soon to be added will be specialties in Dermatology, Gastroenterology, and Urology. Kellyn will also preview plans for the Medical Center’s growth over the next three years. Perhaps most importantly, she’ll explain how we can access the available services and specialty areas, current and future.
Kellyn Shaw has worked in the healthcare field for 37 years. Much of that time was spent in skilled nursing. Additionally, she has considerable experience in the areas of case management, health information, finance and marketing. As the new Director of Provider Relations for Northwest Healthcare, her mission is to connect physicians and other senior medical personnel with the communities they serve.

This will be the first of several talks about the Northwest Medical Center. Early in the fall, two physicians staffing the specialties at the new facility will expand upon the care to be offered there. This series of talks is supported by the Academy Services Corporation (The Villas) as part of the Academy Village’s ongoing interest in health care services in our area.
