Deborah Robin

In part 1 of Deborah Robin’s 2-part presentation, you were taken into the Palazzo Vecchio for the celebrated head-to-head painting competition initiated by the city’s Mayor in 1510.  You saw what Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci created, learned about their tools and techniques, understood how their personality shaped their choices, and found out who won the contest.

Part 2 widens the lens to explore their lives, their rivalry, signature styles, and greatest achievements. We’ll uncover the stories behind Leonardo’s Mona Lisa, The Last Supper, and Madonna of the Rocks as well as some of his fascinating inventions. For Michelangelo, we’ll examine David, the Pietà, the Sistine Chapel Ceiling and Last Judgment. Clear visuals and simple explanations will help you see how each master thought, worked, and transformed art—and why their achievements still captivate us today.
