In this presentation, Dr. Johnson discusses the current state of tribal agriculture in Arizona. Besides its obvious economic importance, he addresses its vital role in tribal culture, identity, and health. To illustrate these points, he shares examples of the work currently taking place on Arizona’s tribal lands. In his conclusion, he shares his outlook for the future of tribal agriculture. Part of its success, he believes, depends on the tribes’ partnership with local communities.
