Today’s session continues our introduction to the new hospital on Houghton at Old Spanish Trail. Kellyn Shaw, Director of Provider Relations and Business Development for Northwest Healthcare, who presented the facility overview in July, will introduce the lead physicians for two of the Center’s specialties, who will describe the services to be offered in Cardiology and Family Medicine.
Bhavanda Reddy, Cardiologist, writes of himself: I’ve always been passionate about making a difference in the world, so when it came time to choose a career, my father encouraged me to go into medicine. Being a cardiologist allows me to have an immediate impact on my patients’ lives; being able to save a patient’s life during a heart attack is immensely gratifying. Over the years, I have developed a niche in performing highly complex coronary interventions.
I take a holistic approach when treating my patients, so lifestyle modification has become one of the pillars of my care strategy. Outside of work, I am a long-distance runner and cyclist. I’ve run four out of the six major world marathons, and my goal is to finish the rest of them in the near future. I am also involved in local and international charity work.
Dr. Patrick Ouzts, MD, Family & Sports Medicine, writes: Through volunteering with the Cleveland Clinic in high school, I learned that I was passionate about medicine. Being a family medicine doctor was a natural fit since I enjoy creating long-lasting relationships with both my patients and their families. I am able to treat them through their lifespan and truly help them live their best lives.
I specialize and take a particular interest in sports medicine and all musculoskeletal issues. I am board certified in family medicine, providing a wide range of care, and a fellowship-trained and board-certified physician in sports medicine. Outside of work, I enjoy staying active outdoors and have recently taken up golfing. I can also be found rooting for Cleveland sports teams.
