We’re privileged to have Jaye-Lynn back for a second presentation on a very different area of art with a focus on album covers during the 1960s-70s rather than on famous gardens. Many people consider the 1960s-70s a time of experimentation. Artists were experimenting with new styles – op art, pop art, surrealism, minimalism – and recording artists were experimenting with new sounds. Album covers became a new canvas to explore. Fine artists, musicians, and album cover designers all strove to put a new spin on their respective works.

This talk will explore some of the most iconic and influential cultural expressions of the era. Jaye-Lynn was an educator in Traverse City, Michigan. She holds a BS in Education and a MA in Humanities. She taught upper elementary and middle school, conducted teacher training workshops, and created curriculum guides for the local museum in Traverse City and for the Michigan Legacy Outdoor Sculpture Park. Upon retirement in 2013, Jaye-Lynn and her husband moved to Tucson. She has been a docent at the Tucson Museum of Art since 2015. Offering tours and giving Art Talks allows her to continue learning and interacting with others who share a love of the arts. Gardening and traveling are two of her favorite pastimes.
