The Amerind Museum is just an hour southeast of Tucson, an easy drive and a fascinating place to spend time in a cool place on a hot summer day. It’s a beautiful museum, art gallery, and research center dedicated to southwestern archaeology, Native cultures, and Western art. Located in Dragoon, Arizona, the museum is housed in the former historic home of the founder of the Amerind Foundation, William Shirley Fulton, and is surrounded by the spectacular boulders of Texas Canyon.

Eric Kaldahl, its President and CEO, will discuss the mission and development of the Amerind Foundation. Established in 1937, it has explored the ancient and historic cultures of the American Southwest for over 80 years. Dr. Kaldahl will explain its contribution to understanding the history of Native American people in Arizona, New Mexico, and Chihuahua. Photos from the Amerind Museum collection will illustrate his talk.
