Don Swann: Retired Rangeland Manager, Saguaro National Park; Biologist

Don Swann, retired Rangeland Manager at Saguaro National Park, was responsible for managing the park’s rangeland ecosystems and ensuring the sustainable use of natural resources.   Both the  Park and the Rincon Valley in which we live are part of a wildlife corridor and the Sonoran Desert Ecosystem. Don will highlight research on the vegetation and wildlife of the Park and the surrounding Rincon Valley and suggest ways residents can help the park conservation efforts. He will also focus on the history of Rocking K Ranch after it’s cattle ranching days as it moved into its present day development and the role of the Rincon Institute, a nonprofit conservation organization based in southern Arizona whose main role is to protect and manage natural resources in and around the Saguaro National Park and nearby areas like the Rincon Valley.
