Meet Callie Tippett, new ASA Board Member
By Mary Ann Gillespey
We are pleased to welcome Callie Tippet to the Arizona Senior Academy (ASA) Board of Directors. Callie’s personal and professional roots in our region run deep. Raised in East Tucson with the Rincon Mountains as her backdrop, she learned to drive on Old Spanish Trail and spent her early years hiking the Rincons. Today, Callie and her husband make their home in Vail, where they are raising their three children, ages 17 to 22. Throughout the years, Callie has remained actively involved in her community, supporting and leading organizations connected to her children’s schools and activities, including serving in various roles on the Vail Unified School District Governing Board since 2017.
Callie currently serves as the Executive Director of Greater Vail Community Resources, an organization well known to many in our Village through its food bank and thrift store. In this role, she leads the organization, its board, and staff, while also overseeing fundraising, outreach, and grant writing. She is already familiar with Academy Village, as many of our residents generously support Greater Vail Community Resources through donations. When asked what motivated her to join the ASA Board, Callie shared that she has long been aware of Academy Village, the Arizona Senior Academy, and the Academy Villas. While earning her degree in Marriage and Family Studies, she came to deeply value the idea of a community “wrapping around” individuals and families in all their forms to help them thrive. Having witnessed her own elders aging, Callie believes our community embodies this philosophy in a meaningful way. We are excited to welcome Callie to the Board and look forward to exploring emerging opportunities for collaboration between ASA and Vail Resources—more to come.
Welcome Callie!
