Come and find out why we should appreciate bats for their intelligence, benefits to our environment, and gentle nature. You will soon forget about all those negative accounts presented in Hollywood movies and Halloween imagery, which have created a misunderstanding of these “sky puppies”. Debbie Beucher will dispell the myths and describe the true natural history of bats and introduce you to Rosie, an adorable rehab Pallid bat which she keeps in her hand, it’s injury preventing it from flying. You may already have a bit of experience with bats which, during nights in August and September, may have visited and emptied your hummingbird feeders. These bats are sugar bandits, our migratory Lesser Long-nosed bats.
