Many individuals might agree that we are living in a world where pandemics, wars which we observe on television on a daily basis, and global instability contribute to a general sense of anxiety. Some fear not only for themselves but future generations; there is a sense that both their livelihood and their values are under threat.  Existentialism addresses all of these disruptions, urging us to confront our anxieties in order to make changes.  Steven Taubeneck will explain how an awareness of the Existential movement in philosophy and literature can help us cope with the turbulence of these times and assert our individual freedom, choice, and responsibility for our own existence and values in a world where we, at times, feel powerless and anxious.
