Meet Kate Robold, new ASA Board Member

By Laureen Heath

I discovered a kindred spirit when talking with Kate Robold. She is a native to Tucson. Kate and her family enjoy the outdoors and take full advantage of biking and hiking opportunities in our area. Kate has been married for 20 years and her family is active with two boys (12 years old, 15 years old) and a well-loved rescue dog. National Parks are favorite summertime adventures for the Robold family. This summer they are hoping to visit Glacier National Park in Montana. One of Kate’s favorite places to visit was Sequoia National Park. Her eyes sparkle as she talks about the majesty of the giant sequoia trees! Kate enjoys music and she highly recommends musical performances at La Rosa in Tucson. While out and about the town, Kate enjoys eating at Seis Kitchen and relaxing on the beautiful outdoor patio.

Kate attended public schools in the Tucson area and has fond memories of participating in after school programs. She was involved in sports and found positive role models in her school experiences. Teachers, coaches and parents inspired Kate to excel in her educational endeavors at the University of Arizona for her undergraduate work and Northern Arizona University for her graduate studies. Kate’s current position as principal of Saguaro Creek Elementary School has been a positive, challenging move in her career. Starting up a new school is like ‘building a plane and flying it at the same time.’ Many staff members from her previous school (Ocotillo Ridge Elementary) have joined her at Saguaro Creek. This is a strong testament to her leadership and organizational skills. We share a strong desire to build a partnership between the Arizona Senior Academy and Saguaro Creek Elementary. The future is bright with hope!

Welcome Kate!
