Artificial Intelligence (AI) is no longer a concept reserved for science fiction — it’s now a part of our everyday lives, from voice assistants like Alexa to medical diagnostics and self-driving cars. This engaging lecture offers a clear, accessible introduction to what AI is, how it has evolved over time, and how it’s shaping our future. Dr. Chism will begin by exploring the early origins of AI and then examine how machine learning, neural networks, and massive data processing transformed AI in recent decades, culminating in the powerful tools we see today like ChatGPT.  We’ll demystify common terms and discuss real-world applications that impact healthcare, transportation, entertainment, and more. Finally, we’ll consider the future of AI and what ethical, social, and personal questions should be considered.  Explore one of the most transformative technologies of our time.
