an ASA Zoom Webinar*

Are plastic bags really more harmful than paper? Is this plastic container a recyclable tub or a throwaway tray? What about lids? Should glass be collected separately? Do I even care? Am I going crazy? How much does it matter?

We live in a world where confusion around recycling has skyrocketed. The rules have changed repeatedly since recycling started in the 1970s, and even more quickly in the last five years.

Join our “Recycling 101 and Beyond” webinar. We will discuss the basics of how to recycle, as well as dive into some of the recent changes to recycling markets and their influences on our local recycling programs. The rules seem to change every year or two, confusing us all.

Now is your chance to ask about recycling protocols for our new collection service, Waste Management.

Laila Amerman is the regional expert in recycling and behavior change at Waste Management in four Southwestern states: Colorado, Arizona, Utah and New Mexico. She educates and works with communities in all these states to find simple solutions to complex recycling challenges.
